Excellent introduction to British Romanticism

I've been using this text in my undergraduate courses in British Romanticism for a number of years. Acknowledging the debate about what exactly defines Romanticism, the editors have carefully selected and expanded the representative writers and poets of this period and have created the most comprehensive, yet the most diverse text in terms of gender of any available anthology of British Romanticism. It has taken a few decades for other writers beyond the six major poets and a couple of important novelists to gain recognition for their contributions during this important period of literary history, and this text has played a seminal role in broadening the Romantic canon. It's a good idea to supplement this text with a couple of novels or other primary texts of which there are many to choose from. Nevertheless, of the currently available anthologies of British Romantic literature (or literature of 1780-1830), I find this text to be most useful and most accessible, especially for undergraduates, for the study of British Romanticism.

About the Author
Byron Wright is owner of BTW Technology Solutions, which provides Exchange Server and Office 365 implementation and migration services. Mr. Wright is a Microsoft MVP for Exchange server since 2012. He has a broad range of knowledge about Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, networking, security, and cloud services. As a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), Mr. Wright provides practical advice and exam relevant content to a wide variety of organizations. He has authored and co-authored a number of books for Cengage Learning on Windows Server 2003, Exchange Server 2003, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. He also occasionally teaches information systems course for the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba.

Leon Plesniarski is a Senior Solutions Architect who has been building with Microsoft products since 1984. Mr. Plesniarski's formal training was in Computer and Electrical Engineering, but he has since applied his skills primarily in computer networking. About the Author
Martin Williams is Emeritus Professor at the University of Adelaide, Australia. His particular contribution is the reconstruction of prehistoric environments, ranging from the habitats occupied by early hominids in the Afar Rift of Ethiopia to the Neolithic occupation in the Sahara and the Nile valley to the late Pleistocene wetlands in the arid Flinders Ranges of South Australia, using evidence from a wide variety of disciplines. He is a recipient of the Cuthbert Peek Medal from the Royal Geographical Society, the Sir Joseph Verco Medal from the Royal Society of South Australia, the Distinguished Geomorphologist Medal from the Australia and New Zealand Geomorphology Group, and the Farouk El Baz Award for Desert Research from the Geological Society of America. He is the author of more than two hundred research papers (twelve in Nature) and has edited or authored twelve books, including Landform Evolution in Australasia (with J. L. Davies, 1978), The Sahara and the Nile (with Hugues Faure, 1980), and Quaternary Environments (with David Dunkerley, Patrick De Deckker, Peter Kershaw and John Chappell; 1993, 1998).

The standard

This book is the standard by which other histories of Jazz are to be judged. The history is related without bias, but with flavor, both completely and with sufficient detail.
The history is presented with insight into the future implications each musical "invention" would bear on its progeny. You get the feeling that the authors were "there" when the music evolved, giving it a realistic and even authoritative feel. You trust this book.
This book complements Porter's "Jazz: its origins to the present" well, as it is often referenced in that book. It makes them an ideal pair. While the tone and emphasis are slightly different, the subject matter is the same, he rich and diverse history of jazz.
It is no wonder that other books on Jazz site this book as the definitive source on the subject. Thumbs up for a classic work.

Excellent look at the Foundations of Chinese Medicine

I am a student of Chinese Medicine, currently in my second year. This book is a huge achievement. The author is basically trying to make the most accurate translation of some of the oldest texts in Chinese Medicine. He explains that to be able to make a qualified translation of a Chinese Medical text, you must be well versed in the Chinese language, English language, Chinese Medicine and Western anatomy. The early translators did not have these qualifications and thus translated many words inaccurately. The author gives clear and logical reasoning to his translation differences and makes some very convincing arguments.

This book was extremely helpful as a student of TCM to be able to bridge the gap between eastern and western medicine. In school we learn both subjects in a way that keeps them almost completely separate. In clinic we mostly have to think one way or the other. This book shines a new light on the way I perceive both medicines and gives me a profound respect for the undertaking of the ancient Chinese physicians.

Great book, highly recommend it to anyone interested in Chinese medicine, especially students of TCM.

I love this detective that Mr Tallon Jones has created

The author sent me this book for free to give an honest review. I have read several Penny Detective novels before, which are usually set in a fictitious town in Merseyside called Croxley. This is different as Morris Shannon who is the main character is on his own, without his faithful sidekick, Shoddy. I love this detective that Mr Tallon Jones has created. He is flawed, human and makes mistakes. The book is written in first person and Morris's ironic look at life comes through on every page.
The plot is well developed and is based on the classic country house murder scenario which I love. The characters are well developed and Lady Cynthia, who is the person who hires Morris is so over the top that she parodies a lot of the female heroines in a Christie type novel.
if you are looking for an easy read that will make you chuckle, and has a twist at the end, then this is recommended.
The atmosphere created is cosy and the characters believable. I read this in one afternoon as it is a real page-turner.

Unpredictable!

I should start off by saying that I am usually pretty good at predicting storylines, I have made some amazing predictions before and I am almost always right. However, this story was one of the few times I've been wrong! I thought I knew who the killer was going to be only to realise too late that I was wrong! I did get it slightly before the big reveal but WAY later than I usually figure things out! So if I had to sum this story up in two words it would be - unpredictable mystery! And aren't those the best sort of mysteries around?!
