Material is better stated in the original Flower of Life Boo

Bob Frissell is merely repeating what's all ready been said in Drunvalo Melchizedek's fascinating Flower of Life books. Why even bother writing this one unless it is to capitalize on the original? The diagrams and examples in "Nothing in This Book is True, But it's Exactly How Things Are," are even taken from Melchizedek's. How disappointing this was to me. This is like the condensed, extremely condensed, version of a superior work (confounding as it is!). In any case, there's lots of talk about secret societies, crop circles, aliens, ascended masters, the pyramids, Mars, etc., etc., etc. You can find information on this stuff in many, many other books as well. I find it intriguing that every book I read about these matters offers a different explanation. It appears that there are many different versions of "how things are" out there and I certainly cannot buy what the title of this book indicates; that the information given here is, in fact, "HOW THINGS ARE." Read this, certainly, for a bit of mind expansion or read it for a bit of fun (however, the sacred geometry does go a bit over the edge, as in The Flower of Life books). But don't take it too seriously. There are lots of other explanations as to who we are, why we're here, where we came from, where we are going, and who is walking among us. Who's right? Who's not right? Who is close to being right? It's all so complicated, isn't it? Yep.

A book for the uninformed

This is a great book that like so many other authors, ties unknowns of conspiracy and controversy together (albeit with no footnotes or references). The thing is people are so hung up on things like the fourth dimension and the theory of evolution - and they pick and peck at it. Unfortunately science is often laughed at because the common man knows little about it. Take for instance this "shift" we must make to the 4th dimesion. Physicists talk of 10-26 different universe dimensions in the exotic area of string theory. The problem with the 4th dimension "shift" is that these dimensions are not parallel universes to our own, but thought to exist on the subatomic scales discussed in quantum mechanics - which size in the region of 10 to the negative 33rd power. A wee bit small for inhabitants like ourselves. BTW through the general theory of relativity, physicists were shown that we do in fact live in a universe of four, not three dimensions. The fourth is time, just like length, bredth or depth - as in space/time. We already inhabit the fourth dimension, sorry.
It is an interesting read for either open minded (don't be so open minded your brain falls out, this is how religions gain zealots) or someone like myself that loves a good twist of fiction.

New Age Mush

I picked this book up expecting and wanting to read about some of the more extreme paranormal happenings going on in this world. Not necessarly planning on believing it or not. First, what this book does good: Every phenomenom and conspiracy and unexplaned event is tied together, making it an intersting concept. It also has an indept, yet confusing chapter on a new branch of geometery. Kind of cool even if you can't understand it. This book had great potential, but 2 major points ruined it. One, Where are his sources? He makes wild and intersting claims, but he gives no reason on why we should believe it is true. The major blunder in this book is the New Age Mush, terms are thrown out that are impossible to understand. For example, "The only difference between dimensional worlds is their wavelengths." What the hell is that suppose to mean?
If your one of those new age freaks, you'll enjoy this book. This book is also somewhat intersting just for the topics a! nd interconnections, but there is much better stuff to be reading and learning with.

Pleasures abound in this sexy third novel from Emma P�rez.

Great fun! Professor Electra Campos is smart, sexy, with a weakness for the ladies. And her most dreadful dean has dropped dead (with a little help). Electra is an obvious suspect, and she gets involved with proving her innocence (with a little "Prove it on me Blues.") This novel is packed (pun intended) with action (pun intended). It's an academic murder mystery whose appeal will extend far beyond academics. Electra and her side-kick Adri�n have me laughing and shaking my head (and wanting to shake them!). From "Greek tragedy was in my blood" to "I pulled her thong from my coat pocket," pleasures abound in this sexy third novel from Emma P�rez.

A very enjoyable debut novel!

Electra's Complex is "A Bella After Dark Erotic, Romantic Mystery. Electra Campos is an English professor at Capital College in New York City. Getting to campus very early, to turn in paperwork to the dean, she discovers his body in a pool of his blood. What follows is a very funny mystery with some great, off beat characters. There is also plenty of sex, and a fun flirtation between Electra and NYPD Detective Carolina Quinn.
Edited by award winning Kathering V. Forrest, Electra's Complex is a very good debut novel.

Excellent erotic murder mystery that will keep you on your toes

I had no idea what I was getting into with this book, but it was a wild ride. I've shelved it as erotic, and it is, but there is absolutely no romance to this book. It's a murder mystery where one of the potential suspects is also investigating the murder to the best of her ability. There's a lot of sex with multiple partners, but all of it ratchets up the tension.

I'm typically not a mystery person at all, but I'm so glad I read this. If you want something different, be sure to check it out.

Aesthetically appealing and general introduction to Chakras

As someone who knew nothing about Chakras prior to reading this book, I found it to be an easy-to-read, general introduction.

The most striking thing about the books is its aesthetic appeal, which is refreshing, - and appropriate considering it's mandate to impact us spiritually. Its pages are large, thick and colorful and the material is an interweaving of photos, diagrams and artistically presented text. I point this out because it is such a striking contrast to most books these days, crammed with small, nondescript black and white text on cheap paper. I actually found that I enjoyed just holding the book and flipping through it to soak in the visual aspect.

As for the content, as a beginner I can't speak to it's accuracy but it struck me as a light, easy-to-read and apply overview for the spiritual seeker who is knew to the concept of energy centers in the body. The author stays away from religious discussions and instead provides basic, and somewhat generic information on each of the 7 main Chakras. For each Chakra the author provides affirmations, a meditation and a questionnaire (which sounds hokey, but which I actually found quite useful).

My biggest gripe is that not enough instruction or suggestion was given regarding how to apply this information to my life. Should I meditate on only one Chakra at a time? How long should I meditate on a particular Chakra? Am I supposed to "feel" something and if so, how long does it take? What should I do next?

Also, the author provided a variety of informational tidbits (neatly organized) about each Chakra such as the color, shape, crystal, musical note, astrological sign, internal organ, positive and negative archetypes, etc. associated with each Chakra, but almost no explanation as to why these particular attributes were assigned to particular Chakras. Consequently I got the impression that some of the information was cheesy and a bit new-agey for my tastes.

Overall, I found that for me the books main value was in setting up a mental construct that I could use to evaluate my life and spirituality rather than in providing significantly detailed information to really understand what Chakras are and how to use them.

Solid basic introduction to Chakras.

Having read quite a few books on Chakras I would have to say that this is a really good book for learning the basics of the Chakra system and how it applies to you. It is definitely the most colourfully illustrated book on Chakras out there, but there are better ones that go allot deeper into how Chakras work and how to work with them.

Well-Paced, Careful Presentation, Moderate Difficulty

This text sits midway in difficulty between a first year physics treatment of E&M and more advanced texts like Lorrain and Carson's Electromagnetic Fields and Waves and Jackson's Classical Electrodynamics. Dr. Rojansky argues that most students require a patient, careful discussion of fundamentals before undertaking advanced studies. His book moves at a leisurely pace, sytematically laying down a solid foundation. However, unlike many first year physics texts, he assumes that the reader is familiar with integration methods and partial differentiation. He does devote a few chapters to reviewing fundamentals that will be useful later - curves and surfaces, solid angles, Taylor's Theorem in three dimensions, vector fields, cylindrical and spherical coordinates.
Somewhat early Rojansky introduces a simple physical model, a copper block with a cylindrical hole, and then frequently revisits this model to address increasingly complex problems. It proves to be an effective way to link more advanced sections to earlier lessons.
During new derivations, references are often made to earlier derivations and results (by equation and section number). I had to stop, thumb back to earlier sections to find a result, and then move back to the derivation at hand. Rojansky's text is not unique in this respect, but at times I did find it annoying.
Rojansky assumes that the reader works most exercises (or at least thinks seriously about them) and should you fail to do so, you could find yourself returning to earlier sections for review. The problems are not overly difficult and useful hints are provided. Answers are not provided and it may be helpful to refer to a general problem set (like Schaum's).
Rojansky limits his text to electrostatic fields and magnetically induced electric fields, to isotropic media, and to macroscopic phenomena. Nevertheless, despite the leisurely approach and avoidance of electrodynamics, this book is not an entirely easy read. Maxwell's equations do emerge and more difficult chapters address topics like integrating delta functions, solving Laplace's equations, and investigating plane electromagnetic waves, antenna radiation, and wave guides. As with most Dover reprints, this book is a good buy. I give it a solid four stars.

This was the book on electromagnetics I'd been looking for.

I am a amateur radio operator and have degrees in mathematics. I was looking for a book that would show the derivation of the equations but also give a good feel for what they mean. Although the "proofs" in this book do not go down to as fine a detail as possible, I found it has just the right depth to keep focused on the meaning of the equations.

After grinding through the text and working all the exercises I am now in a position to usefully read deeper works. I was particularly happy that the book derives the equations for the field due to a short dipole (three different ways!) and also gives the basics of waveguides. These are very important to those interested in radio communications.

I can now see why Rojansky was a legend where he taught.

A great book , advanced undergraduate to graduate level.

Professor Rojansky does a great job explaining clearly with numerous illustrated examples starting with mathematical notes and ending with a brief summary in several appendix. In the body of the text his examples and demonstrations are clear and illustrated. He chooses to use both mks and cgs units for historical and practical reasons. Development of a topic is as the cover describes "explicit and unhurried". This book is a nice text or a good supplement. Not a collection of solved problems but a good teaching text. Other books that I like include: "Classical Electrodynamics by Jackson", so the "age" of this book is of no concern to me. At the price offered for "Rojansky" how can you go wrong!

Daniel O'Sullivan, an accountant and part owner of the bar known as Prime, lost his wife seven years ago when she was killed in the twin towers. To him, love should be forever so he has been unable to date anyone feeling he would be cheating on his wife. Now Daniel is starting to forget what she looked like and it scares him. Gabe and Sean, his brothers, have been trying to get him back into society and dating again.

Catherine Montefiore works at her grandfather's auction house with her grandfather and mother, her only living relatives. Although she has a degree in art, she feels like she is a disappointment to her family since she does not possess her mother's style or her grandfather's showmanship. Insecure in her artistic skills, Catherine secretly draws the male form. With two disastrous past relationships, she sticks to drawing men during the day and dreaming about them at night. Whenever she can, she escapes to her grandfather's beach house in the Hamptons.

Daniel, manipulated by his brothers, is reluctantly filling-in for Sean at a summer share in the Hamptons with a group of lawyers. When Catherine spots his gorgeous form sitting alone on her beach, she cannot resist drawing him. When they meet, the attraction between them is instantaneous. As they prepare to return home - after spending the weekend together - Catherine spots Daniel's wedding band. When he does not explain about his deceased wife, they part on bad terms. Upon returning to work, Daniel is sent to audit an auction house where financial misconduct is suspected. Coincidentally, it is the place where Catherine works. The suspect? Her beloved grandfather. Will Catherine and Daniel be able to get beyond their personal feelings and work together to solve the scandal at the auction house? Is her grandfather guilty?

SEX, STRAIGHT UP, the second book in the Those Sexy O'Sullivans trilogy, is an entertaining read. This heartwarming, witty romance is filled with interesting, well-drawn characters and a touching, intrigue-filled plot. Readers will find themselves caught up in this steamy story of a man who finds love again after a major loss in his life. I highly recommend SEX STRAIGHT UP. Readers who like this story will also enjoy the first book in this series, SHAKEN AND STIRRED.

Well written, good characters, but depressing and kind of boring

Good writing and storyline, characters are believable and likeable. Such a tragic day 9/11 was and so heart wrhenching, but I honestly dont want to relive it in a romance novel. It may be a reality, but it's so sad and a downer on the budding romance each time it seems to get off the ground.
It makes no mention of 9/11, in the book description, and 50% of this story is about bringing that up. I agree with a previous poster about a good story about moving on from loss, but him taking his wedding ring on and off nearly every page of the book wears thin. And the fact that he's been celibate for 7 years isn't believeable at ALL, yet he jumps into bed with some woman he meets in one day suddenly. And you start to really feel sorry for Catherine, having to hear about the ex over and over again. There is a love triangle in this book, and not a good one. It just starts to get depressing.
Although it it well written and the characters are decent, Not a lot of heat or excitement or anticipation or intrigue in this book. The backstory about her grandfather's situation, Daniel going back and forth with his wife's death, ring, no ring, yes no, etc. It just gets boring, especxially when the grandfather's situation gets tedious and too detailed toward the end.

O'Sullivan series, book two.

Daniel O'Sullivan became a widow seven years ago, on 9/11. He still wears his wedding band. He still misses his wife terribly. He is still unable to move on. Quite frankly, Daniel has no interest in moving on. Until her death, Michelle and he were soul mates. The chances of meeting a second soul mate in a single lifetime is slim. Most people never even find one. The odds are against him and Daniel has no intention of ever searching. However, his brothers have had enough of Daniel using work as a crutch. If Daniel is not busy with the accounting firm, then he was helping out at the family bar, Prime. His brothers, Gabe and Sean, and even Tessa, Gabe's girlfriend, join forces and use guilt to get Daniel to take a three-day weekend off at the summer time-share beach house in the Hamptons. From the moment Daniel hits the beach, he is counting down the minutes until he can return to work. The beach house time is shared with two other people (lawyers) and their dates. It is all snack foods, alcohol, and wild times. Daniel spends most of the first day on the beach of the house next door to get away from the others. When Daniel realizes that the house next door is currently occupied, and the lovely lady is sitting outside, he approaches her to make sure it is okay for him to sit on her section of the beach.

Catherine Montefiore can tell the handsome man wants to get away from the others. After chatting awhile, Catherine is amazed to hear herself offering one of her spare bedrooms for him to sleep in. He agrees. It is all meant to be very chaste. Yet they end up in one bed. Doing something totally new for her, Catherine decides to have a hot affair for forty-eight hours and then return to her normal life. When the two days are up, Daniel returns to his life and Catherine returns to her family's exclusive auction house. She is hardly back into the swing of art appraising when the family's business is hit by a very public scandal. The board believes her grandfather, who actually owns the auction house, of collusion with another business. The board insists on an independent audit. Daniel is part of that independent audit team. As Catherine and Daniel hit the invoices in an attempt to prove her grandfather innocent, they find themselves unable to keep their hands off each other.

***** Harlequin BLAZE is called that for a HOT reason. Expect some hot bedroom scenes with light erotica. Nothing hard core, but still designed for ages seventeen and up. Consider yourself warned. Having said that, I wish to go on record as stating that author Kathleen O'Reilly is one of the few BLAZE authors that I have come to thoroughly enjoy reading. This is the second O'Sullivan man's story. Daniel's story has a sound plot, engaging characters, and focuses primarily on the romance between the main couple. Be sure your beau is within reach as you begin this tale. This is the perfect way to heat up an otherwise chilling winter evening. *****
