Great

This book is fearless and readable. It takes on some difficult theological issues without being strident. You come away with an appreciation of Paul's ferver in protecting the early church from the effects of racial and national elitism. There is no hesitation in saying that the law is temporal and that the Spirit is the force for a Christian's moral direction. Christians overcome their sin through faith in what God has accomplished through Christ's death, burial, and resurection.

Recently I preached/taught through Galatians and was shocked to find that this commentary was more useful to me than some of the more exegetical and academic tomes.
By this I mean not only was it helpful for preaching and application, but Hansen often provided more insight into the context and gave a more theologically reasoned interpretation to this admittedly difficult letter.
I recommend this commentary to the lay person, pastor, and academics.

Refreshing

I own a dozen commentaries on Galatians and this one surprised me by its readability and usefulness. It is not very technical. It makes common sense most of the time. It is brief and concise in comparison to some other titles I own, but full of well spoken phrases and exegetical gems. You will be tempted to quote the author. I was pleasantly surprised by depth despite the size. It is not about what doctrines the author affirms; it is about how he approaches the text and what he highlights as major issues, perhaps even useful in our day and not just in Anatolia region. I actually do not agree with quite a few points the author makes, but that is personal, not business to borrow the clich� from the Godfather movies. I still feel that most pastors and serious Bible students will find it refreshing and udefull.

Indispensible Resource for Icelandic Travel

I bought this for a trip to Iceland, and it was an invaluable resource. There were many destinations slightly off the Ring Road that I would have otherwise likely passed over if not for this book. One example is Glymur waterfall which is perhaps one of the most beautiful sights I have ever had the pleasure of seeing despite the arduous journey to get back to it. I think the effort to reach Glymur made the reward that much sweeter!

Great book!

This is a great book for any rock hound out there.
It's well written, easy to read and very informational. I have to say, I learned a lot from it.
Obviously it doesn't have every single crystal out there, but it's a great start.
I like that I can easily go back and reference something, it makes it that much better.
I'd love to get the others in the series.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that wants to learn more about rock and crystals!

Crystal Bible for beginners and everyone else.

I love the way Judy puts this book together. She covers a lot of crystals. The pictures of them are very good. She goes into the healing properties, the placement, how to clean and charge them and everything else you need to know. It is easy to understand. It is one of the better books on crystals.

Sanskrit is the ancient language of thousands of sacred scriptures of the Sanatana dharma or Eternal Truth revealed down the ages in India. Because these Sanskrit writings are still the living guides for the moral, aesthetic, intellectual and spiritual life of the Indian peoples, to be able to express and to understand the Sanskrit terms of this lofty wisdom is to discover the heart of the culture of this ancient people and a richly laden aspect of the Divine in manifestation.

Initially it seemed that the new pressure cooker came with too many functions. I was totally overwhelmed with them and really ended up ruining so many dinners I can’t count. But now with these awesome recipes I really don’t have that trouble. I’m starting to understand my instant pot better with every new meal I make.

Instant pot cooking is not a new thing at all. But a lot of people struggle to cook good food for them and their family. I have never thought that this book will help me so much in my cooking. But this book is absolutely perfect for anyone who wants to know everything about instant pot cooking. Also there are a lot of recipes given in this book. These recipes can be cooked in a very short time and they are very healthy to eat. The recipes are described in depth for all the readers of this book. I really liked it.

Worse cookbook I've ever read.

The cover page says "Ultimate Cookbook", "The Complete Pressure Cooker Guide", and "Healthy Dinner Recipes". NONE of these things are true. It is not a pressure cooker guide at all. Just some badly written recipes. As far as "Healthy" goes, recipes that call for a cup of cream, or a half cup of butter are not what I call healthy. I have bookcases full of cookbooks and I cook for a living - this is seriously the worse cookbook I have ever read. I actually bought it for a gift but decided to throw it out instead.

Not as usefull as I thought it would be.

This book didn't cover anything that I haven't seen before. I suppose in the 70s when it was written, information of this type was hard to come by. But now it's very common place. Anyone who has done yoga or tai chi, or is just in relatively good shape won't get anything new from this book. People who are older and have not taken care of themselves could benefit from this book I suppose, but there's nothing in here that you couldn't just do with a swiss ball and foam roller.

I did like some of the breathing exercises in the earlier chapters though. And if you are someone who doesn't already have experience with body work, this book is a good introduction. Just buy it used though, it's not worth paying for a brand new one.

If One Tries These Exercises, Lowen's Ideas are More Understandable

One thing about Alexander Lowen's ideas of feeling better, is that they can seem unusual. That is because the average person today is so disconnected to real feeling that we cannot recognize the sense (pun intended) in which he talks about feeling, desire, grounding etc. The only way to come to know it is to work the body. Not work the body to make it greater for the ego but to become comfortable in our own skin. This book is a generous gift of such exercises worked out by decades of trial and err. Just do some. Your feeling will increase. What you do with that greater, more real feeling is the subject of his other books.
